The part-time, 12 hour position, has rotating Saturday, morning and evening hours. The Assistant will be expected to perform all duties that may occur in a small public library. These duties include but are not limited to plan, prepare and execute library programs such as story time and crafts, complete processing of library materials including cataloging and stack maintenance, maintain library computers, perform ILL, handle the circulation desk, and answer reference questions. Custodial duties required when needed. Liaison to various community outreach programs. Experience with an ILS, preferably Evergreen. Information Technology Specialist - The Farmington Libraries

Information Technology Specialist, Part-Time, 28 hours/week - The Farmington Libraries are seeking a qualified individual to provide direction and collaborate with colleagues in researching and implementing new digital services designed to meet the needs of our forward-thinking community.  
The Information Technology Specialist (ITS) will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new technologies as they emerge, and designing original programming for one-one-one and small group trainings for staff and patrons. The ITS will assist in the development and day-to-day management of library-wide information systems including public and staff computers, as well as equipment and software in our Maker Space, and experiential and media production lab. 
     The successful candidate will have experience with various computer coding languages, creating instructional and informational materials for print and online publication, a passion for sharing knowledge with others, and a commitment to serving the community.
     Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required. Master’s degree preferred, but not required. Customer service experience required.

Senior Library Assistant: Technology & Programming, FT – Bethel Public Library: The primary responsibilities of this position are to work under the direct supervision of the Adult Services Librarian on the Technology needs of the library, and act as the primary point person for maintaining the hardware and software for the Library’s automated system, the LAN, servers, and other equipment.  This position will be responsible for technology programming for both staff and the public in all departments under the direction of the department heads. The Senior Library Assistant will also provide services to the public at all service desks throughout the library; assists technical services, and requires evening and weekend hours as part of the regular work schedule.  The minimum qualifications for this position are a bachelor’s degree with some formal computer training, including experience with Word Press and HTML.  Experience with additional programming languages and microcontrollers a plus. Executive Director - Hotchkiss Library of Sharon. The executive director of the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon CT, one of the oldest libraries in CT, will provide the vision, leadership and management of the library and is responsible for overseeing the programming, operations, and fundraising that will sustain the library’s growth, quality, and organizational mission. This person will serve as the face of the library to internal and external constituencies, including the library’s board, staff, donors/members, town-elected officials, and the public-at-large. The executive director will oversee revenue generation and will supervise the library’s operations.      Position Details: Reporting to the Research Librarian and Coordinator of Research Services the Outreach and Academic Engagement Librarian will work collaboratively with staff throughout the library as well as within the broader Wesleyan community to demonstrate the value of the library in a liberal arts environment. This newly defined position will be dedicated to expanding the library’s outreach efforts in order to strengthen relationships across the campus, particularly those with faculty and students. This position will take the lead in building learner-centered programming and highlighting the role of the library in Wesleyan’s distinct culture. This position will also play a key role in promoting Wesleyan’s unique collections as well as engaging the research community and other constituencies outside of Wesleyan.
     Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Chair the library’s Communications Team to publicize and promote use of library collections and services. Create and deliver programs that enhance the library’s role in student instruction, faculty scholarship, and staff initiatives. Collaborate with other campus constituencies – like the Center for Pedagogical Innovation, Career Services, to offer mutually beneficial programming. Serve as liaison for the Friends of the Wesleyan Library. Develop promotional materials that effectively communicate the library’s goals, services, and news to a variety of audiences, including editorial responsibility for the library’s newsletter. Partner with the Digital Projects Librarian and others to further develop the online presence of Wesleyan’s unique collections. Conduct library instruction for groups and provide one-on-one research consultations. Provide general reference to students, faculty, staff, and the community. Select materials in liaison subject areas as assigned. Serve on library committees and task forces and campus committees when library representation is appropriate. Maintain current knowledge of trends and changes in academic public services and contributing to the library profession through participation in the work of professional organizations.
     Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Library and/or Information Science and at least one year related experience in outreach or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Demonstrated experience coordinating, leading, and evaluating success of programs and events. Facility with social media tools for organizational outreach. Expertise developing promotional materials and programs. Knowledge of trends in effective marketing techniques. Facility with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-based environment. Demonstrated service orientation and creativity within an academic environment. Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
     Preferred Qualifications: A subject master’s degree, preferably in the humanities or social sciences. Experience in academic libraries. Experience with graphic design. Experience working in library public services, including general face-to-face and online reference work. Experience teaching library instruction using information literacy concepts. Experience in using Springshare Libguides software.

Instruction and Outreach Librarian - Andrew Mellon Library, Choate Rosemary Hall, Wallingford, CT. The Instruction and Outreach Librarian is a 42-week faculty position reporting to the Director of the Andrew Mellon Library.
     Andrew Mellon Library Overview: The Andrew Mellon Library at Choate Rosemary Hall is at the heart of teaching and learning. The Library's mission is to enhance the academic environment and support the education of each of our students. With the advent of the digital and technological revolution, the importance of this role is amplified. Library faculty collaborate with teaching faculty to help students learn information and technology literacy skills. Instruction in research strategies, evaluation of sources, and citing resources are offered in a variety of flexible models. Students, faculty, and staff have access to over 190,000 titles including 130,000 eBooks and over 50 scholarly databases. In addition, the library makes available textbooks, laptops, iPads, chargers, headphones, and other technologies to the Choate community and actively works with student groups and faculty to host academic and social programs.
     Position Overview: The Andrew Mellon Library at Choate Rosemary Hall seeks a dynamic educator-librarian to join a blended faculty librarian team. This person will partner with colleagues to design and teach bibliographic instruction classes utilizing innovative learning technologies and pedagogies to support student learning. The successful candidate will have experience with library outreach, library programming, and social media initiatives. The individual will be motivated and team-oriented with broad experience in academic librarianship, information literacy, and pedagogical best practices. We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and eager to participate in a collegial partnership.
     To fulfill the responsibilities, the Instruction/Outreach Librarian: Serves as a member of the library's research and instruction team. Develops user-centered tools for research and instruction units in collaboration with librarian colleagues. Provides relevant embedded instruction in research and citation skills. Utilizes innovative learning technologies and pedagogies in support of student learning. Assists faculty, staff and student research, providing assistance online and in-person, for both one-on-one research consultations and at service points in the library. Participates in a collegial team environment with other faculty librarians to oversee and manage collections and services. Works with others to select print and electronic sources to support the curriculum. Oversees the social media program of the Andrew Mellon Library. Supports the Library Director to plan and execute library programming and conferences. Monitors the work of the library support staff on projects and during evening shifts. Engages in ongoing professional development. Oversees the library during Summer Programs, coordinating the work of support staff and collaborating with summer faculty to support teaching and learning.
     Requirements: Masters Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university. 3-5 years library experience in an academic setting or independent school environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
     Preferred: Familiarity using emerging technologies for teaching including video production for flipped classroom instruction and using iPad apps as they relate to interactive classrooms. Background in creating instructional tools using LibGuides. Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.

Children's Programmer - The Harwinton Public Library is seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual who loves working with children to be our Children’s Programmer. Harwinton is a rural town of approximately 5,600 and part of the Region 10 public school system. The Harwinton Public Library is centrally located in the town’s Municipal Complex in close proximity to Town Hall, the Harwinton Consolidated Elementary School, town playing fields and Conservation Area. The Children’s Programmer plans and oversees children’s programs and manages the children’s collection. Duties include planning and presenting several weekly Story Time programs, selecting and ordering materials for the children’s collection, acting as a liaison to the Region 10 school system, and conducting community outreach. The Children’s Programmer manages the library in the absence of the Library Director. The position is for 28.75 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday, and includes one evening and alternate Saturdays. This is an hourly position, eligible for paid vacation, holidays, personal and sick time. Salary begins at $20.63/hour. The Children’s Programmer is part of the local Union. Part-Time Librarian - The Danbury Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, technology savvy, part-time Librarian. This person will be responsible for being the program assistant for adult programs, as well as providing reference desk services. We are looking for someone who has a comprehensive awareness of the best readers’ advisory resources, is well-versed in library reference and research techniques, is eager to respond to the information needs of library customers and is committed to creating an exceptional customer experience. Specific responsibilities include providing reference and readers advisory service in a variety of capacities; providing assistance to customers in locating and selecting library materials, accessing databases and using electronic resources including: computers, and copiers; and planning and implementing programs which may include community outreach and book discussion groups. Requirements: An M.L.S. Degree from an ALA accredited library school. Individuals in the final stages of completing their MLS degree will also be considered. Other requirements for this position include: flexibility to work evenings and weekends, knowledge of emerging technology trends and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Web 2.0 applications and Internet Explorer; strong communication skills, self-initiative, solid problem solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment. Bilingual English/Spanish speaker preferred.
