Children's Programmer - Harwinton Public Library

Children's Programmer - The Harwinton Public Library is seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual who loves working with children to be our Children’s Programmer. Harwinton is a rural town of approximately 5,600 and part of the Region 10 public school system. The Harwinton Public Library is centrally located in the town’s Municipal Complex in close proximity to Town Hall, the Harwinton Consolidated Elementary School, town playing fields and Conservation Area. The Children’s Programmer plans and oversees children’s programs and manages the children’s collection. Duties include planning and presenting several weekly Story Time programs, selecting and ordering materials for the children’s collection, acting as a liaison to the Region 10 school system, and conducting community outreach. The Children’s Programmer manages the library in the absence of the Library Director. The position is for 28.75 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday, and includes one evening and alternate Saturdays. This is an hourly position, eligible for paid vacation, holidays, personal and sick time. Salary begins at $20.63/hour. The Children’s Programmer is part of the local Union.
