The Tisch Library at Tufts University supports teaching, learning, and the creation and dissemination of scholarship in the School of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering (AS&E). With an ambitious strategic plan and research agenda, Tufts is a dynamic institution rising in prominence. The Collections department of Tisch Library is newly re-organized to better align with our strategic plans. Reporting to the Head of Collections, the successful candidate in this new position will lead the selection of materials to add to the open access Tufts Digital Library, focusing on materials produced by AS&E faculty and students, as well as published and unpublished born-digital materials that complement local strengths and deepen the collection in areas of strategic importance on campus. Additional responsibilities include curating digital exhibits to highlight collection strengths, developing best practices around digital library collections, and working with faculty authors and editors in exploring more library support for campus-based publishing. As a member of the Collections department, the person in this position will oversee the social sciences collection in support of the curricular and research needs of AS&E, and will serve on Tisch and interlibrary teams as needed. Substitute Information / Children’s Services Librarian – Russell Library Join a Busy, Award-Winning Library! Russell Library, Middletown’s award-winning public library, needs qualified Substitute Librarians to carry out reference and readers advisory services to adult patrons in our Information Services Department, and to children in our busy Children’s Department. Sunday Substitute Librarians

Children’s and Teen Librarian

The Weston Public Library seeks an energetic, creative, self-motivated and customer oriented Children’s and Teen Librarian. The responsibilities for this position include: developing print and digital collections for children and teens; providing reference and reader’s advisory services to children, teens, and parents; collaborating with Weston Public Schools and other youth services agencies; and working regular shifts at the adult information desk. Part-Time Library Clerk

Prospect Library is seeking a part-time library clerk to work at its circulation desk for 15 hours per week. Job will require daytime hours and one night a week. Also requires rotating Saturday hours from September thru June (5.5hrs per Saturday). Position salary is $11 per hour with no benefits. The successful candidate should be able to meet the public courteously and perform a wide variety of library tasks. In Conjunction with circulation duties, clerk will work closely with the Library Director and Assistant Director/Children’s librarian to assist with the preparation of library programming for all ages; successful candidate may be required to create in-house flyers, registration forms, displays and crafts as needed.  Previous knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required. Comfort working with social media is a plus. Library Director

Russell Library, Middletown, CT.  The Board of Trustees of the award-winning Russell Library seeks a visionary, energetic, innovative individual with a demonstrated track record of effective collaboration, action, and execution for the position of Library Director with an anticipated start date of March 1, 2016. Reporting to the Russell Library Company Board of Trustees, the Library Director administers a budget of $3 million, heads an 85-person staff of service-minded and resourceful individuals, and leads a public library committed to growing its mission of public service and to linking to the community’s numerous educational, cultural, and social assets. The Library Director will lead the planning and ultimate execution of the Russell Library’s strategic plan for the future of the library in terms of public service, daily functionality, and physical space.
