Responsibilities: Working in a team-based environment, the Assistant Vice Provost reports to the Vice Provost for University Libraries and leads the administrative services team of thirteen in overseeing the operations of the library including the recruitment, development, and evaluation of a library staff of 120, an operating budget of $20 million, planning and managing physical facilities, and statistical reporting for the Library. S/he is responsible for the daily operations of the University Libraries, works closely with the six library functional area heads and their team leaders on administrative issues, represents the University Libraries on collective bargaining issues, and represents the Libraries in the absence of the Vice Provost. As a member of the Library Leadership Council, the Assistant Vice Provost plays a key role in the strategic planning process for the Libraries as well as serving as liaison to other offices on campus.
