Adult Services Librarian - Edith Wheeler ML, Monroe
Adult Services Librarian - The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library of Monroe, serving a community of 20,000 in upper Fairfield County, is seeking a full-time Adult Services Librarian. Duties: The Adult Services Librarian assists the Director in planning and delivering library services to adults and teens. S/he is responsible for reference, reader's advisory guidance, assisting patrons in using resources and services, materials selection, interlibrary loan, programming, developing publicity materials, and maintaining the library homepage. The Adult Services Librarian supervises the full-time Circulation Manager, the full-time Cataloger, 2 part-time reference librarians, and the part-time interlibrary loan assistant. Requirements: MLS from an ALA-accredited program plus some relevant experience. We would consider a candidate with an MLS in progress, with at least one-half the course work completed and at least 2 years' relevant experience. A commitment to excellence in customer service, sound professional knowledge, and proficient computer skills are necessary. Thirty-five (35) hour work week includes one evening and weekends in rotation. Salary range is $37,129 to $43,069, depending on experience (salary review underway). Municipal benefits package.
