Children's Librarian - Otis Library, Norwich

Children's Librarian - The Otis Library, Norwich Connecticut seeks a skilled, experienced Librarian to head the Children's Department in its newly opened building. The children's librarian supervises the children's service staff, coordinating with other library services and directing children's library programs. Other exemplary duties include selecting materials for the children's collection, maintaining collection, training staff assisting in preparation the annual budget, This position makes professional-level library technical decisions. The work requires that the employee have considerable knowledge, skill and ability in every phase of the public library field, particularly as it relates to children's library services. Qualifications a Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university plus three years of progressively responsible library administration experience. This is a full time position with some evening and Saturday hours. Starting salary is $38,000-$40,000, depending on experience.
