Librarian I, Adult & Information Services - Ferguson Library, Stamford. Salary Range: $55,310 – 67,888. The Ferguson Library was founded in 1877. Incorporated as an association library in 1880, it is the public library in Stamford and receives major annual funding from the City. It operates a Main Library in the downtown, three branches and a bookmobile. The Library is governed by a board of directors, who are guided by a newly written strategic plan that serves as a blueprint for providing excellent service. The Information & Adult Services Librarian joins a team of supportive and dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will provide traditional reference services, develop and maintain assigned areas of the collection, assist patrons with technology and accessing the Library’s digital resources, teach computer skills in classes and tutorials, provide reader’s advisory services, prepare bibliographies and pathfinders, update and add content to the Library’s website as needed, and perform other duties as required to provide library services to an adult population. Requirements: Masters Degree in Library or Information Science; knowledge of and substantial experience in development and maintenance of collections; electronic resources and digital media; developing and providing readers’ advisory services. Experience with working with Drupal-based websites. Tact and skill in working with public and staff.
