Children's Librarian - Oxford Public Library

Children's Librarian - Oxford Public Library seeks an energetic professional full-time (35 hr.) some evenings required, to provide children's and teen library services in a union position. Work involves planning and conducting Children's, Teen and Jr. Friend's programs, selecting children's and teen’s materials, technical services processing, reference and reader's advisory services for children and teens, meeting with community members to promote programs, meeting with other library professionals to share ideas and expand knowledge, and shared duties to manage the library. Considerable knowledge and skill in library work, particularly in children's services, literature, and computers/social media are required. ALA/MLS degree preferred, will consider equivalent education and experience. 2 years progressively responsible supervisor experience needed. Hiring rate $18.18/hr. to start.
