Cataloger/Technical Services Librarian - Windsor Locks Public Library. This full time hourly (35.0 hour) position requires an individual with cataloging and collection development experience or coursework equivalent. Experience in Sierra or other library systems and proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Operating System. Some supervisory and customer service experience is preferred. Assists in handling reference inquiries. Performs duties in other departments, participates in library special group projects as needed, and assists and instructs patrons in using library services and technology. Ability to create marketing materials to publicize programs, provide reference and reader’s advisory to adult patrons. Shared responsibility for overseeing daily opening and closing procedures and directs staff in the absence of the Director. Candidate must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. This position is responsible for: cataloging and supervising processing of all materials (including periodicals) for circulation; performs all bibliographic maintenance and physical processing activities; maintains bibliographic database and all bibliographic statistics; oversees Interlibrary Loan requests including ordering, processing of ILL requests (system, email, and mail), including those through ReQuest; maintains records, selection and acquisition of materials through Ingram and other vendors to develop library collection, including reference databases under the supervision of the Adult Services Librarian; receives and checks in all new materials; acquisition, organization, maintenance, withdrawal of materials, checks and processes invoices; maintains materials budget information; trains and supervises part-time staff and volunteers as necessary.
