Librarian - Northwestern Connecticut Community College,
Winsted. 35 hours per week (Full-Time) / 12-Month Tenure Track
Position. Anticipated Starting Date: December 27, 2013. Northwestern
Connecticut Community College is seeking an innovative and
student-oriented librarian to join a team-oriented, academic library.
This position requires the ability to work some evenings and Saturdays,
as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science
from an American Library Association accredited institution and a strong
commitment to public services, including one to four years of related
experience in an academic library, and a demonstrated passion for
teaching information literacy skills to individuals and classes.
Candidates must also have: experience with developing and administrating
learning assessment tools; effective interpersonal, oral, written, and
online communication skills; experience leading or supervising others;
ability to work independently, as part of a team, and work with a
diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and community members;
and enthusiasm for tackling all aspects of the job description with
creativity and flexibility. Other duties may be assigned. Preferred
Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who have a
demonstrated ability to create digital resources. Applicants who do not

references. Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for
compelling reasons. Responsibilities: Working under the direction of the
Director of Library Services, the candidate performs a broad range of
public services in the library, including information literacy
instruction; reference and circulation services; technical services and
collection development. Minimum Salary: $59,471 approximate annual, plus
excellent medical insurance, retirement and related fringe benefits.To
