Head of Children’s Services - Booth & Dimock Memorial Library
in Coventry is seeking a creative, energetic and self-motivated
individual to lead visionary Children’s Services Department.
Responsibilities include developing children’s collections, programming,
maintaining website, online resources and web 2.0 interactions,
promoting children’s services within the community, providing reference
and reader’s advisory services to children and families, collaborating
with schools and other youth service organizations--including town early
literacy committees, seeking external funding sources and grant
opportunities, and supervising children’s department staff and
volunteers. Programming responsibilities include weekly story-times
offerings for children birth through grade 6 and their parents, and
summer reading. This is a full time (40-hour) position that includes at
least one evening per week and occasional weekend hours. The successful
candidate would be service-oriented, work well with children and their
parents, possess excellent technology skills and substantial knowledge
of child development and early literacy. An MLS from ALA accredited
institution is preferred, or at the discretion of the search committee,
an MS/MA or BS/BA and relevant experience. More details available at:
