Librarian - Hoffman Family Library, Goodwin College, East Hartford

Librarian - Hoffman Family Library, Goodwin College, East Hartford, seeks an experienced librarian whose primary responsibility is the library web page. This librarian will: be responsible for the management of library information technology services including the web page, serve as senior advisor to the director of library services regarding relevant information technology developments, policies, security and management issues, and resource needs, share in other library functions, such as reference and information literacy instruction, and represent the library in meetings, campus committees, and professional organizations. Qualifications include: ALA accredited MLS or MLIS and additional degree in an academic subject, Demonstrated experience administering and working with library automated systems software and operations, knowledge of academic library operations and service requirements, Some Website design experience formatting with HTML or XHTML, Some advanced programming languages such as JavaScript, Ability to use CSS, insert images and tables and post and edit sites through the Dreamweaver framework, Familiarity with open source software, Experience in teaching and/or library instruction, Minimum of two years in an academic library, Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, A record of professional accomplishments, active participation in professional organizations, scholarly activities, and a commitment to fostering the growth and development of others, A demonstrated commitment and sensitivity to diversity in the workplace.
