Reference and Adult Services Librarian - Exciting opportunity for a dynamic, detailed, public service-oriented individual looking to be part of a professional team at an innovative library. Position definition: Develops, administers, and coordinates reference and adult services; works the public service desk; and assists with building and facilities management. Responsibilities include (in brief): all aspects of reference services, teaching basic computer literacy classes, selecting adult fiction materials, preparing bibliographic and reader advisory tools, coordinating community outreach programs, assisting with the coordination and management of building and facilities issues, working the public service desk, and directing pages and volunteers. MLS with 2 years of progressively responsible library experience preferred. 35/hr week. Salary: $40,000-$45,000. Benefits. Evenings and rotating Saturdays required. Head of Technical Services - Ledyard Public Libraries. Part time (20 hours). $17.30-18.36/hr. Qualifications: Four year college degree plus two years experience in library work to include technical services and library automation. Knowledge of library policies, procedures and administrative practices; knowledge of bibliographic standards of cataloging; knowledge and experience in data entry, and on-line computer systems; knowledge of print and online resources. Duties: Catalog all library materials online using LION standards and criteria; set up and maintain parameters for the library's computer system; represent the library at LION, operating as project manager; select adult materials in cooperation with the Library Director; order library materials; prepare technical service reports for the Director; other duties as required. Library Assistant - South Norwalk Branch Library Children's Dept.

Library Assistant - Norwalk Public Library System, South Norwalk Branch Library Children's Department. Part-time, 19.5 hours per week, $13 per hour. Qualifications: High school diploma and minimum of 2-year college Associate Degree, or Library Technical Assistant degree. In lieu of the above, two years of library work experience at a clerical level, with excellent recommendation. Ability to operate computers required. Ability to perform all Library Clerk tasks.
