Branch Librarian - West Haven Public Library. Full-Time. West Haven Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, energetic, creative, tech savvy Branch Librarian for the Louis Piantino Branch Library; full-time (37.5 hrs. /wk.), including evenings and rotating weekends. MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution and library experience required; experience with public library reference services; at least three years of staff management, demonstrates a strong commitment to public service and proficiency in using hardware and software. Spanish/English bilingual desirable. The primary responsibilities will be in managing a branch library, providing reference services, teaching library skills, participating in collection development, expanding community outreach, developing programs and offering technology help-desk services for patrons utilizing the Internet, e-mail, social media, MS Office applications, downloadable library collections and Wi-Fi. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a management team. Budgeting, children’s and teen experience would be a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups of varying ages. Salary commensurate with experience.
