Librarian I - University of New Haven.
7 hour/week position with no benefits. Duties: Provides research and
reference assistance to on-site and distant students and faculty.
Provides information literacy instruction to class groups and individual
students. Develops and updates LibGuides; designs web-based tutorials;
and assists faculty in the development of student’s information literacy
and research skills through course-integrated instruction. Prepares
newsletters and assists with special projects as needed. Exercises
administrative control over the library during weekend or evening hours,
when sole professional on duty. Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS
degree is highly desirable. A student currently enrolled in an
ALA-accredited MLS degree program will be considered. Current library
reference experience is needed. Demonstrated proficiency in use of
traditional and electronic resources and electronic databases.
Demonstrated ability to teach. Must be service-oriented and have
effective, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize. Demonstrated
ability to work collegially and professionally with all levels of
staff. Strong computer & information management skills are needed.
Experience with LibGuides, Microsoft Office applications, web design
applications, and course management systems, such as Blackboard strongly
preferred. The salary meets the CLA recommended minimum. Primarily
