School Library Media Specialist - Windsor High School

School Library Media Specialist - Windsor High School. The Windsor Public Schools has a 1.0 position for a library media specialist at Windsor High School beginning in the 2007-2008 school year. There are 2.0 library media positions at the school. The district supports a vital K-12 library media department. The budget provides for a high quality print collection and technology-based resources. The facility is equipped with over 30 desktop computers, a portable lab with 24 wireless laptops, multiple printers, projectors and an interactive whiteboard. In addition to the two professional positions, there are two full-time paraprofessionals. Instructional technology staff is housed in an adjacent area and works as a team with the library staff to provide services to students and staff. Library media specialists are expected to demonstrate strong and positive leadership in promoting research, reading, and use of information technologies through collaboration with teachers. At the high school level, LMS's must also be able to work effectively with independent users throughout the day. Connecticut LMS certification is required.
