School Librarian - Hopkins School

School Librarian - Full time position available Fall 2007. Hopkins School, an independent, college-preparatory day school in New Haven, is seeking a full-time librarian for grades 7-12. The candidate should have experience with identifying opportunities to teach information literacy skills and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to integrate these skills within the context of actual assignments. He or she will train students and teachers in the effective use of technologies used in the library and promote the use of technology as an information resource. He or she will also have an appreciation for the role school librarians play in promoting recreational reading. This full-time faculty position includes serving as academic adviser to a small group of students. Qualifications: Master of Library Science degree with some teaching experience and facility with technology usually found in libraries.
