Children’s Room Librarian - Plainville Public Library. Energetic, creative librarian needed for busy suburban Hartford county public library to run an active and popular children and YA service. Modern and attractive library building was opened in 2004. This librarian supervises a children’s room staff of 5. They create children’s programming, school visits, young adult programs and story hours. They select library materials including books, magazines, videos, AV and databases. They participated in a 3 member library management team. Requirements: MLS and professional library experience with children; needs excellent interpersonal, patron and computer skills. 35 hour work week includes rotating Saturdays and evenings. Medical insurance, sick leave and vacation benefits are provided. Salary meets C.L.A. recommendation. The hiring process will remain open until the position is filled.
