OVERVIEW: The Milford Public Schools seeks a highly
qualified and passionate educator to provide creative leadership for
district-wide library media services and the use and integration of
instructional technology.
GOAL: To provide leadership in library media and
technology integration with the goal of having each school’s library
media center reflect 21st century learning, and K-12 teachers
integrating technology into their curriculum and teaching in a way that
expands and deepens student learning.
ESSENTIAL TASKS OF THE POSITION: (Illustrative, not
inclusive) Oversees library media centers in 14 schools giving primary
attention to supporting literacy and research. Provides leadership in
the development and implementation of instructional technology. Mentors
and supports staff in their use of technology in their instruction.
Models the integration of technology into administrative, instructional
and assessment practices. Exhibits excellent human relations skills,
maintaining an open and cooperative relationship with students,
colleagues and parents. Oversees the selection and implementation of
online learning programs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (Illustrative, not
inclusive) Work with library media specialists and staff in the
identification and implementation of information competencies. Work with
instructional supervisors and a team of classroom teachers in
developing shared common research experiences for all students. Insure
all students and staff receive training on information technology. Model
for and train library media specialists and media aides in meeting the
curricular needs of classroom teachers. Model for and train media aides
in meeting the technological needs of all school staff. Oversee the
selection, utilization and maintenance of library, curriculum resources
and instructional technology. Models instructional strategies an assists
staff members in the integration of information literacy strategies and
technology in the curriculum. Collaborates with staff to identify and
implement effective instructional and technological resources to support
all content areas. Work with principals, other supervisors and IT to
provide professional learning on the integration of instructional
technology. Deliver new teacher training on district software,
technology use and policies. Educate administrators, staff, students and
parents on the district Acceptable Use Policy. Coordinate the district
technology committee (MTAG). Work with IT to manage Destiny and other
databases. Oversee the development of system-wide budgets for library
media and technology.
PAY GRADE: Supervisor. UNION: MASA. Salary and benefits per MASA contract. CT Certification (092) required.
