Reference /Instruction Librarian - Norwalk Community College Library

Reference /Instruction Librarian - Norwalk Community College Library. Part-time, 17 hours per week. Anticipated Starting Date: January 23, 2015. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science and one (1) year experience as a professional librarian required. Additional experience as a professional librarian and experience in leading or supervising others preferred. Reference experience should include knowledge electronic (databases, e-books, Internet) and print resources; solid reference skills; good communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to establish professional and respectful relationships with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and public. Teaching experience in library instruction and information literacy is preferred. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Library Services, the Reference/Instruction Librarian performs a full range of professional responsibilities including reference services, library instruction, collection development, creating and updating LibGuides; faculty liaison, teaching students and faculty in the use of library resources and research methodology. Other library responsibilities maybe assigned as needed. Evening and Saturday hours may be assigned. Salary: $32.94 per hour.
