Outreach and Instruction Librarian - Quinnipiac University, Hamden. Responsibilities: The Arnold Bernhard Library is seeking an energetic, creative, and service-oriented librarian for the position of Outreach and Instruction Librarian. Reporting to the Director of the Library, the successful candidate will provide leadership in the development and execution of library outreach, liaison program and marketing efforts. This position calls for collaboration with other faculty and university colleagues in the design, delivery, and assessment of our information literacy program. He/she will participate in all aspects of library instructional services, including face-to-face teaching and the creation of course-specific resources, guides, online tutorials, and web pages for use in both traditional and virtual environments that meet student learning needs. The successful candidate will participate in the development and assessment of library instructional activities and programs, often incorporating new technologies into the instruction process. In addition, he/she will provide research assistance to students and faculty at the reference desk. As a member of the Public Services professional team, this librarian participates in library planning and policy implementation, serves on library and university committees, and participates in projects to develop and improve library services. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to teaching and library outreach. Responsibilities include some weekend and evening hours. Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS degree. Minimum of two years’ experience in an academic setting and instructional experience, especially in the area of information literacy or e-learning approaches. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience with emerging technologies for access to information resources. Ability to design and develop engaging course-related library instruction sessions. Strong public service orientation. Experience with information literacy instruction, familiarity with instructional design or online learning.
