Library Director - Rowayton Library
in Rowayton, Connecticut a public, independent library, a 501 (c) (3),
non-profit organization, has an immediate opening for the Library
Director. The Director provides day-to-day management of the library’s
programs and projects; manages the collections and is an advocate for
the library to the community at large, reports to the 15 member Board of
Trustees and supervises the staff and seasonal interns. The successful
candidate should have: 5+ years of successful library
management/leadership experience; Broad vision of how library services
will be delivered in the future; Creative and energetic approaches to
tasks; Outstanding oral and written communications skills; Ability to
work well with Board, Staff, Community Leaders & Patrons; Strong
computer literacy and ability to use and monitor technical equipment;
MLS Degree from an ALA accredited institution, preferred. This is a 40
hour/week position geared to the Library’s hours, which are currently
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Summer Hours are Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Occasional additional time requirements for special events, meetings,
involving evenings and weekends. Salary commensurate with experience
