Reading Specialist - Killingly Public Library,
Summer 2013. The town of Killingly, CT is seeking a certified reading
specialist needed to fill a position in our new grant driven summer
reading program at the Killingly Public Library. The specialist will be
working with elementary students in grades K-3 who are participants in
the summer reading program. The program will be focusing specifically on
summer reading loss. The applicant should have knowledge of language
and reading development and be able to help organize a well planned
reading program. The specialist will be able to conduct assessment of
indicators of learner’s progress. The person must be experienced in
working with families and involving parents in instruction process.
Perfect for professionals looking to work in a non-traditional setting
and those seeking to supplement their income during the summer.
Preference will be given to individuals who have obtained (or are
pursuing) a certification in reading and who have at least 2 years
experience working with children in an educational setting. The
applicant should be available for 28 hours per week for 8 weeks
beginning mid June through August of 2013. Pay commensurate with
