Library Media Specialist - Berlin Public Schools, Mary E. Griswold Elementary School. Job Summary: Manages all aspects of the Library Media Center and library paraprofessional. Coordinates with classroom teachers to deliver curriculum based upon sound, well-researched principles of teaching and learning. Works collaboratively with technology teacher to ensure education and information technology standards are met. Qualifications: Proper Connecticut teaching certification (PK-5 (001), Librarian 1-12 (048), School Library Media Spec. (062)) required; strong academic preparation; elementary experience preferred; ability to modify the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners; must meet Federal NCLB requirements. Terms of Employment: Position starting August 2011; Salary is in accordance with negotiated agreement between the Berlin Board of Education and the Berlin Education Association.
