Health Sciences Librarian - Sacred Heart University, Fairfield

Health Sciences Librarian - Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield, Connecticut, the second-largest Catholic university in New England, seeks a health sciences reference librarian. Collaborating with other librarians and faculty colleagues, the health sciences reference librarian establishes and fosters relationships and services in support of the research, instructional and resource needs of the students and faculty of the University’s Health Professions Departments. The principle duties and responsibilities of this position include: selecting subject specific resources; teaching introductory and/or subject-specific information literacy courses and instruction sessions; advocating on behalf of the academic programs in library planning; participating in the delivery of public services and the management of the Department. The health science reference librarian will be or expected to become a provisional member of AHIP (Academy of Health Information Professionals), and to move towards regular membership and AHIP professional competencies. Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited program of Library Science. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Creativity in teaching and the development of user services.
