Social Sciences Librarian - Trinity College
Social Sciences Librarian - The Trinity College Library seeks a Social Sciences Librarian to develop its outreach to the social science departments and to serve as primary subject specialist for their students and faculty. Responsibilities include participation in research education across all course levels; creation of online instruction guides and teaching tools; and the development of social science collections and online resources. The Social Sciences Librarian reports to the Head Librarian for Collections, Research & Instruction; collaborates with the Social Sciences Data Center on outreach and program development; and participates in the Library's general reference services, including some evening and weekend coverage. Qualifications: Strong academic background in a social science, preferably economics; two years experience of reference and instruction in an academic library; ALA accredited MLS or equivalent professional degree. Broad knowledge of information resources; ability to locate and evaluate statistical data; excellent written and verbal communication. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and new technologies; have a willingness to learn and experiment; and the ability to work effectively and creatively as part of a team.
