Librarian (Head) - Connecticut Legislative Library. Connecticut General Assembly seeks a head librarian for its Legislative Library, providing professional nonpartisan assistance to legislators and staff. Successful candidate will participate in and oversee all aspects of library operations including reference, collection development, budgeting, supervision, evaluation, training, marketing, and strategic planning. Ideal candidate will have: strong reference background (federal and state government knowledge preferred); proficiency with legal resources, print and electronic; teamwork and customer service orientation; demonstrated leadership skills in a collaborative environment; excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of professional library science principles and practices. Must be able to function well in fast paced environment and work extended hours. Requires an MLS from accredited program plus a minimum of seven years of relevant experience. Starting salary of at least $95,796 depending on experience, with excellent fringe benefits.
