Director - Bronxville (NY) Public Library

Director - The Trustees of the Bronxville Public Library, in Bronxville NY, are currently looking for an organized and articulate Director to be a hands-on administrator of operations at our beautifully renovated public library, part of the Westchester Library System. BPL serves a suburban community of 5,600 with a circulation of 193,539 items, a staff of 28 (10 FTE) and an annual operating budget of over $1,200,000. It is a focal destination for programming as well as traditional services. The Director reports to a 7 member appointed Board of Trustees and must possess strong management, budgetary and interpersonal skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should hold a MLS from an ALA accredited college or university as well as have experience as a public library department head or administrator. Knowledge of evolving technologies and library policy writing is a plus. COMPENSATION: Starting salary is highly competitive to $90K, commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package. This is a Civil Service appointment and candidate must be able to obtain placement on the Westchester County Civil Service list for Director II.
