Access Services Librarian - Connecticut College

Access Services Librarian, Information Services - Connecticut College. Information Services at Connecticut College, a merged organization of Libraries and Information Technology, seeks an Access Services Librarian with energy, initiative, and vision to provide effective leadership and direction in the provision of library resources to the college community. This position manages the circulation, course reserves, and CTW/Interlibrary Loan services and is responsible for oversight of the physical facilities, security, equipment maintenance and management of the library's collections and stacks. Coordinates the library's copyright compliance services for print and electronic resources. This full time position reports to the Director of the Information Resources Team. The librarian in this position provides active leadership and direction in managing 3 full-time and 2-3 part-time staff members and library student assistants in the day-to-day operations of circulation, course reserves, and CTW/Interlibrary loan service. As Access Services Librarian this individual keeps current on trends in the profession relating to the provision of library resources and services and collaborates with colleagues to implement innovative service in the provision of the library's resources and use of its facilities. Responsibilities include management of the online circulation and reserves functions using the library's integrated system. Oversees the facility including the planning, management and security of the collections, stacks, and public spaces in the Shain Library. Limited reference and liaison responsibilities included. Coordinates the library's copyright compliance services for print and electronic resources. EDUCATION AND SKILLS: ALA-accredited Master's degree in library or information studies or equivalent 2-3 years of supervisory and management experience, preferably in a library setting.
