Experienced Library Assistant (Temporary) - REPOSTED. The Donohue Group, Inc. (DGI) still has several full- and part-time contract positions available (20-37.5 hours/week) for cataloging/barcoding project in a university library (New Haven, CT). The project is expected to continue through April 2010, and additional staff are being added on a rolling basis. Duties: Searching library databases for bibliographic record to match item in hand and affixing barcodes; adding holdings and item records; creating brief MARC records with the use of templates. Qualifications: Candidates must have previous MARC cataloging experience. Job requires individual with extreme attention to detail. Productivity and accuracy will be monitored and must be maintained. Successful candidates will work well in a team environment, be able to get up to speed quickly and be able to navigate smoothly through various software programs. DGI is seeking individuals with a willingness to ask questions and ability to adapt to changing project specifications. Library experience preferred. Library school students encouraged to apply. DGI will provide some training. Candidates able to commit to the full project timeline will be given preference. Salary level: $13 - $15 per hour.
