Project Supervisor/Experienced Library Assistant - New Haven
Project Supervisor/Experienced Library Assistant (Temporary) - Full time contract position (37.5 hours/week) available immediately for cataloging/barcoding project in university library (New Haven, CT). Project scheduled to begin in mid-October 2008 and will continue for approximately 18 months. Duties: Assisting project managers with staff supervision, work flow coordination, record keeping, statistics and quality control; searching library databases for bibliographic record to match item-in-hand and affixing barcodes; adding holdings and item records; creating brief MARC records with the use of templates. DGI will provide some training. Qualifications: Candidates must have experience supervising and coordinating large numbers of staff, above-average organizational skills and previous MARC cataloging experience. Job requires individual with extreme attention to detail, a willingness to ask questions and the ability to adapt to changing project specifications. Productivity and accuracy will be monitored and must be maintained. Successful candidates will work well in a team environment, be able to get up to speed quickly, and be able to navigate smoothly through various software programs. Candidates able to commit to the full project timeline will be given preference. Salary: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour. Position eligible for some company benefits after 90 days.
