Reference & Instructional Librarian - University of Bridgeport

Reference & Instructional Librarian - The University Library at University of Bridgeport is seeking a Reference & Instructional Librarian to provide reference and instruction services within a learning commons model of service. Special emphasis will be given to supporting the needs of our Health Science programs in Chiropractic, Naturopathic, Acupunture, Dental Hygiene and Nutrition. The University Library is committed to the Evidence-based Medicine (EBM) model of information literacy. The selected candidate will participate in the development and delivery of EBM embedded, online delivery, and course related information literacy instruction. Duties include providion of innovative reference and research services to students and faculty, working with faculty to develop curriculum content, rubrics and assessment tools, teaching information literacy skills, collection development and designing web-based tutorials. Qualifications include a MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited program. Undergraduate degree in science or health sciences preferred. Two years experience in Medical Library setting strongly preferred. Experience in teaching EBM a plus. Experience in Blackboard a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills required as well as excellent Microsoft skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
