Librarian (Technical & Instruction Services) - (12-month, tenure track) Tunxis Community College. ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: September 14, 2007. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree and 1-4 years of related experience required. Supervisory experience. Experience with OCLC. Experience with Libris system preferred. Community College experience preferred. Fluency in Polish preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Director of Library Services. The Librarian (Technical & Instruction Services) is responsible for applying professional knowledge in organizing, selecting, and acquiring library materials to ensure their ready accessibility and appropriateness for patrons. This position is also responsible for providing instruction and advising patrons on bibliographic and research involving the use of print, non-print, and electronic sources. * Original and copy cataloging using OCLC and Libris * Supervision of Library Technical Services area * Supervision and training of Technical Services staff * Information literacy instruction, including collaboration with faculty to facilitate library instruction * Reference services and readers' advisory. MINIMUM SALARY: $54,424 Approximate Annual.
