Department Administrator, Library - University of Bridgeport

Department Administrator - Library - University of Bridgeport. Department Administrator - Library is responsible for coordination of all department administration functions. This includes providing direct support for senior management in daily operations, with the ability to handle confidential information. Other tasks include processing all financial transactions, tracking management information in spreadsheets/databases, answering telephones, processing all University forms (timesheets, personnel files, purchase requests, leave requests, students workers, etc.), maintaining an effective file system, reconciling budget discrepancies, handling monies, coordinating special projects like book sales, donations, etc. Liaison to other administrative offices. Duties and Responsibilities: Supports senior management team as requested. Prepares special reports as required. Answers phones, schedules appointments for senior management. Conducts all financial transactions for department, including working with vendor and university staff. Maintains print and electronic file systems. Coordinates special department projects. Responsible for library facilities, security. Provides expertise in following all university policies and forms. Trains and coordinators student employees. Works closely with Associate University Librarian to prepare and monitor budget. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: Associate's degree or High School diploma and 2 years appropriate experience in office administration. Experience in libraries a plus. Good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated mastery of basic computer operations, including Internet navigation skills. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work with minimal supervision producing high quality, correct work. Experience in handling confidential information. Demonstrated ability to work in teams, flexible and able to acquire new skills. Strong service orientation. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
