Public Services Librarian - Quinnipiac University Health Sciences Library, Hamden. We are still growing and this is a unique opportunity to join the new team responsible for rapidly expanding library services. The Health Sciences Library, located on Quinnipiac University North Haven campus, seeks a dynamic, motivated and service-oriented librarian responsible for developing and delivering innovative information services in the health and basic sciences. Reporting to the Associate Director of the Health Sciences Library, the Public Services Librarian will support the Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Nursing. Overview: Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Public Services Librarian to support and collaborate with medical, nursing, and health sciences faculty to integrate electronic information resources into the curriculum. This position will provide innovative library instruction and information literacy programs, including faculty outreach and developing collaborative teaching and learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. The successful candidate will also serve as a liaison to assigned academic departments and provide consultation, technical assistance and creative expertise to tailor instructional resources to faculty and student needs. Responsibilities: Serves as a library liaison to assigned academic departments to support their curricular and educational needs; Routinely interacts and communicates with students and faculty to assess information needs in support of curriculum and research; Provides reference assistance to library users in person and electronically; Participates in classroom instruction on information literacy, problem-based learning, and evidence-based practice; assists in design and development of instruction; Serves on library and university committees; Participates in scholarly activities and professional development. Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants: A Master’s degree (MLS) from an ALA-accredited program is required; Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience required; Experience at an academic health sciences library preferred; Education and/or work experience in health sciences fields is a plus; Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
