Library Aide II: Children’s Services Assistant and Programmer - Canton Public Library.
The Town of Canton is seeking an enthusiastic, organized,
self-motivated, creative individual for the position of Library Aide II
on the Children’s Services team. The successful candidate will plan,
promote, and conduct children’s story times and programs; provide
reference and readers’ advisory; assist with collection development and
organization; create displays; provide technology assistance; and
oversee volunteers. The position is 17 hours per week, including evening
and weekend hours. Additional sub hours are possible. Pay: $15.27 per
hour (no benefits). Minimum requirements are a high school diploma and a
minimum of two (2) years’ public library or child care/education
experience, or any equivalent combination of education and skills. The
ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, extensive experience
working with children and the public, be an avid reader of materials for
children and/or youth, be skillful with technology, and have a passion
to serve the community. MLS students are encouraged to apply.
