Youth Librarian - Town of Trumbull.
Library/Professional. SALARY: $29.94 per hr. HOURS: 35 per wk. WG: H.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: 1. Development of comprehensive programs
for children and youth. 2. Serves as the children’s readers’ advisor. 3.
Makes recommendation for purchases to Youth Services Coordinator. 4.
Participates in outreach program in the community. 5. Performs other
related duties as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under General
Supervision of Youth Services Coordinator or his/her designee.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND
ABILITY: 1. Knowledge of the practices, procedures, and techniques of
library science. 2. Knowledge of children’s books and non-print
materials. 3. Strong computer skills including the use of the Internet.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills. 5. Ability to work
effectively with library staff and library patrons. EXPERIENCE AND
TRAINING: 1. Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA
accredited Library school. 2. Two years children’s library experience
