Electronic Resources Management Librarian - University Librarian II (UCP 7) / University Librarian III (UCP 9). University of Connecticut Libraries, Storrs Campus. Search #: 2011377. Position Summary: The University of Connecticut Libraries seeks to provide users with access to intellectual content that fulfills their academic and research needs and to collections that support the University's teaching, learning, research and public engagement activities. The University Libraries seek an energetic, user-centered, collaborative, service-oriented and forward thinking Electronic Resources Management Librarian to provide creative leadership for developing and implementing a complement of electronic resources that supports the University's evolving research structures and academic programs. Under the direction of the Acquisitions, Financial Services and Statistics Team Leader, this position is responsible for the overall management of the University Libraries' electronic collections and resources, for coordinating acquisition, licensing, evaluation, problem solving and renewal activities, for working with library staff across teams to communicate product and vendor information and to resolve issues related to resource access, interlibrary loan, course reserves, licensing and marketing. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 1. A graduate degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association. 2. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience. 3. Work experience in a library setting. 4. Demonstrated working knowledge of current technology, software, and automated library systems. 5. Demonstrated leadership and excellent communication skills. 6. Experience managing a budget for a department, project, team or committee. 7. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with ability to think strategically, be forward thinking, and embrace change. 8. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment. 9. Evidence of increasing involvement in professional development activities outside the University. 10. Willingness to travel and work a flexible work schedule. Additional Qualifications for Appointment as Librarian III: 1. A minimum of six (6) years experience in an academic library or educational setting relevant to the position. 2. Advanced knowledge of electronic resource management including acquisition, licensing, evaluation, problem solving an renewal activities. 3. Experience managing a department, project, team or committee. 4. Evidence of sustained participation in professional development activities outside the University. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience working with commercial and academic vendors including licensing and contract negotiations. 2. Experience working with and resolving licensing issues. 3. Ability to analyze electronic resources usage data for planning and decision making purposes. 4. Academic training or professional experience relevant to the position. 5. Experience in an academic library or educational setting relevant to the position. Appointment Terms: This is a full-time position.
