About the Position: We currently have a unique opportunity for a part-time Corporate Librarian (20 hours per week), interested in utilizing relevant skills and experience to provide support in the areas of Knowledge Management and Internal Information Services. Position Expectations: Heavily involved in providing reference services (e.g. searching, finding materials, and answering questions) for Internal Clients. Responsible for researching & compiling/organizing information from a variety of sources. Developing information resources to include the following: brand/company/industry dossiers; training materials. Assist with development of information resource repository, including but not limited to: classification and organization system, tagging; preparing materials; maintaining the system. Involved in training activities for internal staff members as it relates to information resources, including the following: databases (e.g. Scout Labs); searching for information. Specific Duties: (50%) Provide reference services to internal clients, including Internet and database searches for market and competitive intelligence to include the creation of brand / company / industry / product dossiers. (40%) Reference tool development & management, including subject guides, pathfinders, screencasts & podcasts. Also assists with development, organization and maintenance of information resource repository and the acquisition of new resources. (10%) Training staff on topics such as searching, database use, individual resources. Position Qualifications: MLS degree required; current MLS candidate also considered. Reference services required; Must be highly skilled at performing information searches using Internet and databases in addition to experience working with patrons. Information management: organization, classification and taxonomy, file manipulation. MS Office; Camtasia; RSS feeders. Training and education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects to ensure timelines are consistently met and that work is prioritized accordingly. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships (both internally and externally). Strong attention to detail and follow-through capability.
