Cataloger for MARC Record Development - MicroMarketing, an Old Saybrook, CT based distribution company, sells books, audio books on CD, and Video to Public Libraries nationally. The product offering includes supplying the full MARC record for each title sold. The work includes downloading and modifying records where available, and creating full MARC records as necessary prior to each new product offering. Further, the candidate should be able to assist the company in acquiring or developing a program that will allow us to fully process each order so that the product when packed will be “shelf ready” including all bar code and other labels, removing the labor requirement for our customers. Once this system is developed, the candidate will be responsible for supervising the execution of the system to ensure ongoing quality of work for our distribution system.
