Document Delivery/Interlibrary Lending Librarian - University Librarian I or II (UCP V or VII). University of Connecticut Libraries. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Undergraduate Education and Access Services program area director, and reporting to the Team Leader for the Document Delivery, Interlibrary Loan, and Collections Maintenance, the incumbent manages DD/ILL Lending Services for the University of Connecticut main campus Libraries; provides bibliographic assistance and access to materials owned by the UConn Libraries to patrons onsite and to other academic, research, public, and business libraries worldwide; and serves as a representative of the Libraries in professional meetings regionally and nationally. The incumbent is conversant with policies and workflows and responds to constituencies’ queries through face-to-face, email, and phone interactions. The incumbent responds to time-sensitive requests in order to meet contractual obligations. Lending Services is a continually expanding reciprocal service currently handling 50,000 requests annually. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/Skills - Librarian I: 1. A graduate degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association. 2. Work experience in a library setting. 3. Demonstrated working knowledge of current technology, software, and automated library systems. 4. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. 5. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically, be forward thinking, and embrace change. 6. Supervisory experience. 7. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment 8. Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule. Additional Qualifications/Skills - Librarian II: 1. At least three years of relevant experience as a professional librarian. 2. Experience managing a budget for a department, project, team or committee. 3. Evidence of increasing involvement in professional development activities. Preferred Qualifications/Skills: 1. Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loan experience in an academic or research library. 2. Experience with any or all of the following: the ILLiad Interlibrary Loan Management System; OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing; RAPID ILL. 3. Experience supervising student workers. 4. Strong public service ethic. 5. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 6. Proficiency searching bibliographic databases. 7. Familiarity with copyright and licensing issues in the print and digital environments. Compensation & Classification: Salary and position level will be commensurate with training and experience.
