Adjunct Cataloging Librarian - Central Connecticut State University

Adjunct Cataloging Librarian - Central Connecticut State University. This is a 15-hour per week position. Employment is on a semester basis starting with the first 8-week Summer Session (May 27, 2008 - July 17, 2008). Salary, $25.00+ per hour depending on qualifications. Responsibilities: Provide complex copy cataloging of library materials in all formats and subjects and some original cataloging. Upgrade brief records in OCLC prior to importing in CONSULS, the online catalog of the Connecticut State University system. Assist with cataloging gift materials. Assist with special projects. Database maintenance tasks. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS. Experience in cataloging on OCLC. Knowledge of current cataloging rules and standards, including AACR2r, MARC21, and LCSH. Preferred qualifications: Experience with LC and Dewey Classification Systems. Experience with a library automation system such as Innovative Interfaces. Reading knowledge of an East Asian Language.
