Technical Services Department Head - Waterford Public Library

Technical Services Department Head - Search Reopened. The Waterford Public Library seeks a proven leader for the position of Technical Services department head. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and management of Technical Services department and for the maintenance and development of the adult materials collection, including selection of new adult books and media. Duties also include copycat and original cataloging and classifying of adult materials, supervising the cataloging and processing performed by subordinate staff and reference and reader's advisory. S/he must demonstrate knowledge of the mission of the public library in the 21st century and be aware of new technologies and their applications. Masters in Library Science plus 3 years related library experience required. Must have working knowledge of bibliographic maintenance standards including Dewey decimal classification, MARC and AACR2. Experience with an integrated library system is essential, SIRSI/DNYNIX a plus. Starting salary $50,638 - $59,249. Excellent benefits.
