Librarian – Technology -

The Wethersfield Public Library Reports to:  Public Services Manager Status: Full-time (currently 35 hours per week) Schedule: Flexible to include evenings and weekends Salary Range Begins: $52,215.61 FLSA: Exempt Union/Non Union: Union Posting Date: Tuesday March 29, 2016 Closing Date: Friday April 29, 2016. As the Technology Librarian you will draw on your expertise to work with a team of professional staff to provide outstanding service to the community of Wethersfield. We are looking for someone who is customer focused, collaborative, tech savvy, and helps ensure the delivery of quality results.  Examples of duties include: Answer ready-reference and/or readers advisory requests; provide general research assistance; provide initial IT support; work closely with Public Services Manager to maintain the library’s technological infrastructure and support future technology initiatives and digital services; manage the library’s web presence and mobile interfaces; manage the library’s digital resources; participate in collection development and maintenance; participate in the development, planning, promotion and delivery of classes and programs;  may also work on special projects; perform other duties as required or other tasks/assignments as necessary. This position requires an ALA Accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science or Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent.  Two years of experience in general library work,  knowledge of and demonstrated experience in library related technology including various hardware, software, digital platforms, ILS, website, web and mobile applications, social media, databases, and print management software. A valid driver’s license is required.
