Adult Services/Adult Program Librarian (full-time, 35 hours/week)

The E.C. Scranton Memorial Library, located in the beautiful coastal town of Madison, CT, seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking librarian to join our Adult Services Department.  This position is responsible for planning, publicizing and implementing library programs for adults as well as collaborating with the Children and Teen Services Librarians to provide multi-age, library-wide programs. This position is also responsible for coordinating and overseeing our eNavigator program that provides both in-house and outreach instruction in the use of our online databases, downloadable e-book and audiobook collections, and electronic devices such as tablets, e-readers and other personal digital devices. Other duties include assisting library patrons with reference and reader’s advisory questions and collection development. Qualified candidates must have an MLS from  an ALA-accredited institution, a high comfort level using and instructing others in the use of current technology and various digital devices, familiarity with current trends in library services and programs for adults, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of print and electronic resources, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work across library divisions. Public library experience and a working knowledge of the Sierra integrated library system along with basic public relations and marketing experience a plus. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
