Substitute Librarian

Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library- has an immediate opening for a part time public services position. The library is located in southeastern Connecticut and is a member of the LION consortium with a shared network using III’s Sierra ILS. We are looking for an individual with excellent reference and customer service skills who enjoys working with all ages to staff both the adult and children’s services as needed. Responsibilities include providing reference and reader’s advisory service for adults, assisting patrons with the use of public computers and services; management of the Children’s Room after school includes children’s reference services, assisting parents and students with research, homework and computer use.  Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required with a combination of library training and experience indicating ability to perform required duties. Knowledge of automated library systems, experience with current technologies, social media and desktop applications required. Public library experience preferred. Students in an MLS program are encouraged to apply. The position is 10-15 hours per week at $20.00 per hour. No benefits.
