Librarian, Cataloging Services - Part-time. Town of Greenwich, CT - Greenwich Library. Close date: August 29, 2014.
Salary: $26.50 - 27.60/hr. Summary: Works with professional,
para-professional, and clerical staff within library and areas of
primary responsibility among Resource Management team. Minimum
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from
an ALA accredited college or university. One year of work experience in
technical services preferred, but will consider a recent graduate with
focus on technology. Job Description: Works with professional,
para-professional, and clerical staff within library and areas of
primary responsibility among Resource Management team. Responsible for
copy and original cataloging applying AACR2 and RDA standards.
Responsible for classifying library materials using DDC standards. May
create documentation related to local cataloging practices. Attends
professional meetings and staff conferences; creates and carries out an
individualized plan for updating and broadening information, technical,
communication and team skills. May create and maintain databases of
local information. Performs related work as required. Additional
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of standard cataloging
documentation and procedures including AACR2, RDA, MARC bibliographic
and authority formats, LCSH and DDC. Knowledge of OCLC and Z39.50
searching. The ability to write documentation related to cataloging
procedures. The ability to adapt to changing technologies. Familiarity
with Windows 7 and Office applications. For additional details and to
