Summer Aide, Children’s Services - Canton Public Library.
A temporary, part-time position offering a great deal of library and
children’s programming experience. Duties: Working with Children’s Room
staff in all aspects of children’s services: helping to prepare and
present library programs for children and teens; conducting special
children’s and teens programs as requested; working at the Children’s
Room service desk answering questions from patrons, assisting with
computers, and helping patrons with the summer reading program;
assisting with collection maintenance and displays, performing other
duties as requested or assigned. Hours & Pay: 20 hours per week on
average for July and August only. Flexibility in working hours,
including evenings. $9.09 - $9.18 per hour. Requirements: High school
diploma, college degree, or college degree in progress. Experience
working with children. Must be able to learn routine library
procedures, follow oral and written instructions, and communicate
clearly and courteously with co-workers and the public. A strong and
diverse reader. Preference may be given to a candidate with strong
organizational skills, crafting skills, or experience in stage crew. To
