Library Project Staff (Temporary) - The Donohue Group, Inc.

Library Project Staff (Temporary) - The Donohue Group, Inc. (DGI) has immediate full-time contract positions available (37.5-40 hours/week) for cataloging/barcoding project in university library (New Haven, CT). Project is already underway, and is anticipated to continue until December 2012. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday between 8:30a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Library Assistant - Duties: Searching library databases for bibliographic MARC record to match item in hand; affixing barcodes; adding holdings and item records. DGI will provide some training. Experienced assistants will also create brief MARC records with the use of templates. Qualifications: Job requires individual with extreme attention to detail, a willingness to ask questions, and the ability to adapt to changing project specifications. Productivity and accuracy will be monitored and must be maintained. Successful candidates will work well in a team environment, be able to get up to speed quickly and be able to navigate smoothly through various software programs. Candidates able to commit to the full project timeline will be given preference. Candidates must have previous MARC cataloging experience to be considered at a higher level of pay. Prior experience working with sound recordings preferred. Library school students encouraged to apply.

Salary level: Library Assistant, $12.00 - $15.00 per hour. Positions are eligible for some company benefits after 90 days.
