Teen/Reference Librarian - Scranton Memorial Library,
Madison CT in a suburban community of 18,824 has an immediate opening
for an energetic service-oriented Teen/Reference Librarian.
Responsibilities include: collaboration with schools and other youth
services, and promoting teen library services in the community;
developing teen collections; maintaining teen web pages and other online
teen services; providing teen programs and publicity; reference and
reader's advisory services to teens, parents and teachers; recruiting
and supervising teen volunteers. Also includes other materials
selection and general reference/information services to all ages.
Requires MLS from ALA accredited institution (candidate near completion
of degree may be considered); excellent customer service and
communication skills, outstanding technology skills, ability to relate
well especially to teens as well as patrons of all ages. Full-time 40
hours per week, including rotational evenings and weekends. Salary
range starts at $54,080, depends on experience/qualifications.
